Hi - we live in DC next to Battery Kemble Park but spend a lot of time outside of the city in Poolesville and Olney. Collins loves being out and about. We take daily walks in the park, and on weekends he loves coming out to the barn with us. We have 2 kids, freshman and senior in Highschool. And a dog-friendly cat!

Lola is a love bug and full of energy. She does not yet come when she’s called so she cannot be off-leash outside of the house. She loves dog parks and other dogs. Has never seen a cat.

Tigo and I have been together for 13 years. He is still very active and healthy. He loves to play non stop and he loves to come on our boat with us. He loves to go for long walks and he loves sunbathing.

Lambeau is a 16 lb love bug. She’ll take some pets over a snack everytime! She plays well with other dogs and loves all people. She’s potty trained and also great went left alone. Her favorite game is fetch and she loves hikes.

Hi there! I have always been a dog lover and dog-sitter, and finally decided to love a dog of my own during the pandemic. I adopted Rosie, a boxer mix, in 2020. She’s an absolute sweetheart but does have some anxiety and reactive issues. She is only ok in homes with large dogs (50+ or more). She hasn’t spent much time around small children or cats.

Judo is a sweet and loving mini bernedoodle puppy (born in December 2023). He's a curious and adventurous little dude who loves exploring the backyard, playing at the dog park, and cuddling when he's tired. He likes all people and is good with kids, and LOVES spending time/playing with other dogs. He's just learning how to contain his energy/excitement and eagerly learning how to be a stellar pup. He lives with me and my husband in a three story townhouse in Southwest DC. He can go up stairs with no issues but still doesn't attempt going down (we're working on it though!).

Hi there! I’m a young professional living in a 1 bedroom in DC. I work entirely from home but need to board my dog once in a while for weekend trips. Appa is a Jack Russell Terrier, housebroken and very well behaved (we’ve worked a lot on his training). He’s also able to stay in a crate for extended periods of time and hang out with other dogs. He’s extremely friendly although sometimes gets a bit overexcited.

We live alone, no other pets. We train/play every morning, lunch, and take a walk in the evening. I don’t allow on-leash greets during walks, no dog parks.

Bentley is an adorable 5 month old Spaniel/Terrier pup. He is super comfortable with new people and loves socializing. He can be calm or energetic depending on how much you want him to be.

Hello! I have two wonderful, intact male doodles. They love people and are very sweet. Love to play and run. At home in PA, we have a full yard. In Georgetown, they get plenty of walks and runs. We prefer a family that has a fenced in yard in Northern Virginia as I don't know that they'll get walked an exercised like we do.

Coco is a very sweet Wheaton colored Scottie ❤️. She loves walkies, but they tend to be kinda slow as she has a big snoot and needs to smell every thing. Scotties can be somewhat aloof, and Coco definitely is- she is fine with other dogs and cats - but prefers to be left alone. I love to play with pups and give them loves ( so it can be torture respecting coco's preferences).I work in DC and wfh 2 days a week- I have a pet walker for the others days. Neither Coco or I do especially well with pups who Bark to hear themselves Bark. Coco eats kibble, loves snackies including carrots, apples, blueberries and green beans. I am only available on weekends- and sold my car so would need to be close to mass transit. We live in NW DC, Massachusetts and Wisconsin- which is a great neighborhood to walk in.

I am a huge dog lover and, while I’ve always had bigger dogs, I love little friends too :) I am an attorney, so I generally go into the office to work during the day, but I can be flexible as needed. My sweet Bernese, Alfie, is very sweet and has never met a dog he didn’t love, but he takes a minute to warm up to humans.

In an obviously, completely unbiased opinion, our Stevie is the cutest 5 year-old baby ever. She LOVES people and is so happy to hang out on your lap/as close as you’ll allow her all day long. She also loves to be outside (this is a favorite buzz word of hers) and hunt for city rats and mark every tree along the way. We are still working on commands and training; currently, she is really good at sitting for treats. She is housebroken. Though I have only recently become a first-time dog parent myself, I have cared for neighbors' and family's pets for many, many years! My goal is to build both your and your pet's trust and keep them in their routine that you've set for them. Their safety and comfort is my top priority.

Mabel is looking to expand her Mabelsitting network! She is mostly even-tempered (aside from 9PM zoomies), loves other dogs almost to a fault and is very food motivated. Unfortunately she does not cuddle on demand but her smiles make up for it! Mabel does bark (Pembroke were originally bred to herd cattle), usually when she wants dinner or dessert (dental chew). Otherwise she can be managed with a treat and a prolonged “stay.” We take Mabel out 4x a day, two of which are 30-40 minute walks. We go to the “human” park a few times a week with a long leash, but do not go to dog parks.

Hello! Raoul is a sweet and energetic 2 year old mix. He chills during the day while his dad works from home. He is crate trained when we go out. Raoul is very popular at the local dog park! He loves to run and fetch. He loves his cat sister and wishes she would play with him but knows she has sharp claws! He still gives her kisses when she’s in a good mood though. He loves chewing on his chew toys but is respectful of other items. He is eager to please.

She is a fun and loving puppy who loves to play with other dogs and is obsessed with her ball. She also loves to curl up on the couch with her favorite bone or ball and spends most of her day relaxing. Cabby loves food and is very motivated by treats and kibble. She gets along well with other dogs and cats.

Tika is a 6 year old mutt who looks like a small (30lb) lab. She's got puppy energy outside but very calm and quiet inside. She likes other dogs, but doesn't love if they invade her personal space. She loves to chase smaller dogs but takes some time to warm up to play/wrestle. She is scared of really large dogs and not a fan of puppies who don't respect space. Will do anything for treats but can resource guard food/treats. Very easy to take care of and can be home alone for up to 10 hours if needed. Beware of squirrels, cats, and rabbits. Tika and I live in a spacious 1BR apartment near the Capitol. I work from home 3-4 days per week, but generally active so your pup can expect good walks and play time but will likely be home alone at least a couple of hours each day.

We are a very active retired couple living on Capitol Hill. We had dogs (mainly large adopted mix breeds) for over 20 years. Our last dog was Mikey who left us, unexpectedly, at the age of 12, three years ago. Our daughter lives in Spain now and we travel there a lot, thus made a difficult decision not not have dogs any more. When we are home in DC, we babysit the dog of our dear friends. We miss having a dog a lot, especially taking walks through the Capitol Hill neighborhood. Since we always had large dogs, we walked them twice a day ( one hour each walk) in any weather. ( tired dog is a happy dog!). We would like to try out this new, much welcomed, neighborhood initiative to help the neighbors. We love to walk and love spending time with four legged friends

As much as she likes spending time with me, she won't hesitate to get her alone time in her cage. Shes a big napper and she's great with kids. Sophie is a rescue dog who came to live with us in March 2022. She is still a bit slow to warm up to both people and dogs, but it only take a little bit of time before she’s trying to crawl into someone’s lap or instigating a game of chase with another dog. She loves to chase a ball, but she also likes to cuddle up on the couch. She’s timid at a dog park unless she goes with another dog she already knows. She doesn’t like to be home alone much, which works out since I work from home. She sleeps in a crate but we don’t crate her when we leave her home alone for a few hours as she doesn’t tend to get into things.

Kai loves other dogs, being in the water, chasing tennis balls, and rolling in the grass. He's a sleepy, goofy 75 pound Silver Lab who came into my life because he failed duck hunting training and was put up for adoption! Lucky for the ducks and for me! I always knew I wanted a dog with our family, and I feel like we won the pup lottery. Cosmo is a rescue pup, and he is incredibly well socialized. Our dog sitters tell us that he brings out the best in their dogs, even those who don’t like other dogs. He’s intelligent and responsive to training, and so affectionate. I use positive training with treats and he has come a long way since we adopted him at 4 months. He knows the basics, plus more. Everyone who spends time with him loves him, so we feel pretty lucky.

Me? A working mom who uses her paycheck to subsidize her dog’s lavish lifestyle of walks and walkers… toys galore… food… and sleeping all day. The pup? Adopted from a rescue from a kill shelter in July 2022. A mutt mix of husky malamute chow staffy boxer terrier and chihuahua. Trained and has continual behavioral training .. a working dog who I get to at least stop to think before she does something for a pay off. A 75 lb dog who thinks she’s a lap dog. Loves people wants to play and be loved… has energy. Happy to walk or run for miles and also just chill near you and play. Loves dogs not so much cats. Prey instinct to chase squirrels and birds but up close doesn’t know what do to with them. Exhume rant but backs off when other dogs out her in her place when they don’t want to play. Super smart knows her commands and crate and house trained. Learns fast. Only food is kibble and specific snacks.. and apples and carrots and watermelon. She wants human food but has never tried any and won’t if I have a say in it!

Bennet is a sweet lab, who loves going on walks and howling when ambulance drivers by our house. He is gentle with our two rambunctious toddlers and mostly avoids them, unless they’re eating, he stays nearby to eat their leftovers. He is good with our cat as well and other pets.

He can get very jealous when another animal is being pet, so he will insert himself in the petting as well. He does bark a decent amount, but it's typically geared towards suspicious things or wanting attention/stimulation. He can be easily distracted with treats.

Sadie is super gentle former hunting dog. She currently is working through some separation anxiety. She was a working dog, so isn’t always sure how to play, but will typically snooze while I work when I work from home.
