Dog Boarding near Chicago, IL

Gus loves other dogs, as long as they aren’t too rambunctious. He is a super cuddly guy but takes a very very long time to warm up to strangers and is best if he is just ignored for a while until he decides you are cool. He needs humans who can be patient with him during the getting-to-know-you time and are willing to give him space and time to warm up.

Teddy is just like his name suggests: he’s the sweetest little cuddle buddy. He’s very attached to his mom who also loves to travel. He usually tags a long on these trips but Teddy does not like flying in planes. He is not a fan of most big dogs either but loves playing with small dogs.

Darla is a little dog who does not at all mind larger dogs. She likes wrestling, with breaks to play bow to make sure everyone knows it's all in fun. She is also very chill and enjoys naptime. It is rare for her to be left alone for any length of time. One or both owners are home pretty much all the time. We also have a teenage son who can provide company when he's not in school.

Everest and I live in an apartment building where I work from home 3 days a week. Everest is extremely affectionate (loves cuddling so much) and has never met a human or dog she doesn’t like. She’s energetic and prefers quieter areas with open spaces. Very eager to please, she makes very fast friends, not very much a judge of character lol. She’s very used to other dogs, having lived months at a time with several dogs in multiple home.

We are a family of SIX plus Emma who completes us. I’ve had Emma her whole life. She’s about to be 16! She is older so doesn’t play much, her eye sight is going and her hips are getting sore but she’s still so strong and happy!

Hi! I am a PhD student and mother of a beautiful baby girl and 2 siberian huskies. We live in Avondale, Chicago with my husband and brother. We love going for walks around the neighborhood together, cooking, writing and reading. We also love nature and camping. Our dogs are 7 and 9 years old. Diamond has been with me since 3 months old, and Keelo was adopted. We took him in when his owner had to go live in an assisted living facility. They are good friends! Diamond is amazing with other dogs and is very chill overall. Keelo is good with other dogs though can be a bit nervous at first. Keelo can be protective of toys if other dogs try to take them (Diamond is very guilty of this), so we always supervise him with toys, or just keep toys away aside from when we are playing. Keelo loves saying hello when you get home from wherever you went off to. Diamond, on the other hand, is surprisingly extremely quiet. They enjoy their walks and food. They are both great with kids and any other people.

We found Chewie during COVID and he has been with our family since June 2020. I currently work from home and Chewie and I have been mostly with each other for majority of the day. He's not super social and only has a few friends he gets along with but he hasn't been to exposed to alot of other dogs and does have anxiety. My goal is to socialize him more with other dogs.

Hi! My name is Chrissie. I’m a registered volunteer at Chicago Animal Care and Control, Anti Cruelty and OTAT. I’m also a dog foster mom for Anti Cruelty, OTAT, Chicago Canine and Border Tails. I have lots of dog handling experience and training experience. Finn is in fact my foster fail. He is an active big guy. Currently four months old and 46 lbs. He is a mix of American Bulldog, Husky and German Shepherd Since he is a pup he has a lot of energy but is a total love bug. Will give you all the kisses if you let him and won’t hesitate to lay his head on your lap. He’s just the sweetest good boy.

We are an active family that enjoys being outdoors. Our dogs are a big part of our lives, and we rarely travel without them unless its unavoidable.

Our family has 4 humans including two kids (7 and 9) and one awesome doggie, Daisy! Daisy is a very sweet girl who gets along well with other dogs and people. She can be a bit jumpy when she gets excited but is never mean or aggressive. She does not chew on anything, rarely has any accidents (only if she’s sick) and is well behaved. We do let her on furniture but will get off when told.

Helga is full of personality and makes everyone laugh. My husband, Helga and our cat Sal moved to Chicago from California about a year ago. We just bought a townhome in Logan Square and will be moving in early November. We don’t need a sitter right away, but would love to watch your dog and maybe one day soon you can return the favor!

I am a management professional who loves dogs and mostly works from home. My job takes me on the road that requires overnight travel. I also like to travel for vacation. Bodi is a 3 year old English cream retriever. He is afraid of little dogs for some reason as I think my neighbors dog traumatized him when he was a younger so he tends to shy away from small dogs. He prefers females, and bc he’s a male, initially with some male dogs he may play the dominance game. I watch that closely however. He is very friendly and loves to play with medium to dogs his size. So I am open to connecting with other pet owners with medium to large dogs. I have a cat who is very tolerant of dogs. I live in a walk up so I often walk my dog. My yard is fenced in, but not conducive to running around in so all the exercise comes from me which I don’t mind and one of the reasons I got a dog. I am excited to get to know other pet owners! Bodi loves people probably more that he does other dogs so he will be very loving to the humans.

Hello, I’m Argos! A 5 year old mostly black border collie mix that my parents rescued from a shelter in Mississippi where my mommy’s from. They also rescued my biological sister, Belle, but she can write her own entry. Everyone says she’s the smart one and I’m the doofus. That’s even what my humans call me sometimes ‘The Doof’ because I’m so silly and handsome! I love most all humans and will sometimes stick my nose in their bag looking for treats when I meet them on the street. I like to have a lot of love and attention. And I LOVE the water as you can tell from my photos. Other than that and some medicine you have to put on my food I’m an easy going guy! Unless you’re a bicycle or a scooter or a jogger then I have a baked in need to herd you. I am mostly Border Collie after all!

We are in the Ravenswood Manor neighborhood. We have two girls ages 6 & 7 and our Golden doodle, Haven. We spend a lot of time at Horner Park and try to take our pup with us as much as we can! We would love to do a boarding exchange. We hosted on Rover for several years before we had children and had many great experiences dog sitting.

Hi! Alex and I live in Lincoln Park with our “mini” bernedoodle Sunny. He’s about 55 pounds and loves to play with other dogs. He goes to daycare 2x a week at Active Dog Chicago. He can be pretty anxious, especially with strangers, but is very loving and friendly with other dogs and people he recognizes.

We are animal loving zoo runners and we have full time jobs on the side - we have a 1 yr old dog and a 4 year old cat and our lives revolve around them. We are lucky to have these adorable animals to share our lives with and are excited to be a part of this community.

Hi Amy name is John and my almost 4year old dog is Mike. He is a mix of Rhodesian Ridgeback, Australian cattle dog, and Pitt. He is well behaved and get along great with everyone from babies to the elderly. All he wants to do is play all day. He is not a fan of cats or squirrels. He is a giant chicken but once he decides you are his friend he will love you forever.

My wife and I adopted Pepper from Chicago Canine Rescue in February 2021. We have an 11 year old son and 8 year old daughter that love playing with Pepper. Pepper is an Australian Cattle Dog and German Shepherd mix with high energy that never turns down a walk. We regularly go to the dog park or Montrose Beach for some fun.

Poppy and I live in a two flat building, that I own. We live on the second floor and have a fenced in yard. I am a retired CPS teacher and dog lover. We enjoy walking throughout our neighborhood and Poppy loves playing with her friends at Canine Social Club twice a week.
